Armadillo Home Solutions
Forging a technical partnership with a new-age home warranty provider
The Story
Armadillo offers affordable, subscription-based protection for when appliances and systems break down in your home, and ensures that repairing or replacing is uncomplicated and hassle-free. As a startup entering the space, they wanted to lead with tech, and were looking for a full service firm with design, development, and CIO level capabilities.
Technology: C#, .NET Core, PostgreSQL, Angular, AWS
Taking Aim
Current home warranty offerings oftentimes have lengthy contracts that are difficult to read, can be confusing to the customer, and have large gaps of what’s actually covered. When your appliance breaks down, filing a claim can be difficult, and there is a high chance of the claim being denied. Armadillo’s customer-focused mindset and Slingshot’s innovative Big Kids had a game plan.
Objectives
- Develop a customer friendly, tech centered approach to buying and using a plan
- Develop a convenient online portal for policy purchase and filing claims
- Create easy to use tools for real estate agents, insurance brokers, and employers to sign up new policy holders
Hitting The Target
In June of 2021, we helped launch Armadillo to the public with their direct to consumer portal for purchasing policies and submitting claims. Repairing or replacing the stuff that breaks in your home has never been so easy, convenient and fast. We’ve since designed, developed, and released multiple additional portals for each of Armadillo’s distribution channels. Slingshot now continues to support Armadillo with a dedicated team with much more exciting things to come.

“We knew we didn’t want to bring on developers or a CTO on our first day. If you get that hire wrong, you could miss hitting key milestones early on when it’s crucial to get your product market fit right. We had great first-hand experience with Slingshot on another project, and knew they would deliver. And to add, Slingshot’s culture deeply resonated with us. They are an extension of the Armadillo family.”
